This cafe has changed hands since I last visited, and unfortunately the quality of the food has gone down too. The menu is a bit different and from a quick read has some improvements (matcha and taro lattes now available, but sadly seem to be from a sugary powder base). I ordered pancakes. Nice and light and fluffy, but I was sorely disappointed with the strawberry addition I paid for - $4 for what seemed to be one strawberry in very small slices scattered across the plate. It could have done with more maple syrup being available too. Rather pricey for what it was. Food was okay but I wasnt inspired to go back.
Definitely a big improvement on the old over-priced and dull Cafe 41 that was here before. I like their new menu with options to suit all budgets, and tasty vegetarian or gluten free options. Nice atmosphere, bright and cheery staff, heaps of seating, and love the blackboards they put out the front with messages and events. It now feels more like a local hangout. Oh! And the coffee is really good!It's also great to see that the clientele now better represents the diverse local community that lives around here.
Edit- cafe was taken over. Pity. Changed a lot and not for the better. Wonderful cafe! Huge menu with lots of all day options, great coffee and delicious cakes. Fastastic staff too!
The staff were outstandingly helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and a inexpensive. My chai was nice and my friends enjoyed their coffee too. The music was nice and chill and had a super relaxing atmosphere.
Amazing food and friendly staff. Love coming here as they are family friendly and the kids enjoy playing in the toy area. Will definitely be going again
